What We Believe

GOD: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. We believe that God, in His sovereign rule of the universe, works out His purposes through the laws of nature and by supernatural power. Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; I John 5:7; Colossians 1:16-17

THE BIBLE: We believe the Bible with all 66 books, consisting of the Old and New Testament, is the verbally inspired Word of God, is inerrant in the original manuscripts, and is the only infallible rule of faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21

CHRIST: We believe in the absolute deity of the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, that He was divine as no other man can be, existing from all eternity coequal with the Father and Holy Spirit; that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man; that He shed His blood for the sin of all men as a substitutionary sacrifice; that He arose in the very body, though glorified, in which He had been crucified; that He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God; and that He now appears in the presence of God in behalf of His people. Matthew 1:20; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 John 2:1-2; John 1:14, 18; Acts 1:9-11

THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person; that He inspired men to write the Scriptures; that He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; that He regenerates those who believe, places them into the body of Christ, and indwells them; that as Christ’s representatives on earth, He calls out His people for God’s service and empowers and directs them in that service. John 16:7-11; Ephesians 1:13-14

CREATION: We believe that God created the heavens and earth, including all life, “each after it’s own kind,” by direct act, and not by the process of evolution, and that the six days of creation were literal solar days. Genesis 1& 2; Colossians 1: 16-17

FALL OF MAN: We believe that man was originally created in the image of God, but by voluntary transgression fell into sin, thus plunging the whole race into condemnation and death, so that now all mankind is born in sin and shapen in iniquity, and are sinners by nature and conduct, and so are without excuse before God. Genesis 1:26; Genesis 3:1-6; Romans 5:10-17; Romans 3:10-19

SALVATION: We believe through faith in the crucified risen Christ, man is justified, regenerated, and brought into the family of God. It is wholly an act of God, totally apart from the works of man. Man cannot gain it by his acts, nor can he lose it by his actions. There is but one way of salvation; namely through Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; John 1:12

SATAN: We believe the fallen angel known as Satan was originally perfect in his ways; that he fell and drew with him a large number of angels; that he, together with his demons, is active in opposition to God and His work; that Satan and his emissaries were defeated at the cross of Christ; that they will be bound for a thousand years at the return of Christ to the earth; and that ultimately they will be cast into the lake of fire where they will be punished eternally. Matthew 4:1-11; Ephesians 6:12; Revelation 20:10

CHURCH: We believe that the Church, the Body of Christ, is a New Testament institution; unknown to the Old Testament prophets; established by Jesus Christ, who is its sole Head; revealed through the Apostles; empowered and perpetuated by the Holy Spirit; His “body” for service and His “bride” for glory. It began with the New Testament saints and will be caught up at the close of the Church Age. We believe the local church is a company of believers in a geographical location banded together for corporate worship, for personal edification, for the promotion of personal and worldwide evangelism, and for the celebration of the ordinances. The ordinances are: The Lord’s Supper and Believer’s Baptism by immersion. The local church is committed to Christ as the Head and to the implicit pattern of authority as expressed in the New Testament. The offices in the local church are: pastor, elder and deacon. Colossians 1:18; 1 Corinthians 1:2; Ephesians 1:22-23; Acts 2:41-47; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians11:23-30; 1 Timothy 5:17; Titus 1:5

SEPARATION: We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as to not bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord; and that God has commanded separation from all religious apostasy (rebellion) and separation from all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations. Romans 12:1-2; 2 John 9-11; 2 Corinthians 6:14-17

FUTURE THINGS: We believe in the imminent return of Jesus to rapture His church, consisting of those saints who are physically dead as well as those yet alive. We believe that at the end of the Tribulation, the Lord Jesus Christ will bodily return with His saints and reign with saints over the Gentile nations for a thousand years; then Satan will be loosed. After the millennial reign, the unbelieving dead will be raised and judged and together with Satan and his emissaries, cast into the lake of fire to bear the burden of their choice---eternity apart from God. Believers, however, will share eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ. 1Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Corinthians 15:51-53; Revelation 20:1-15
